- The included Houseplant Soil Mix is a lightweight, nutrient-rich blend of materials for moisture retention, combined with perlite and coarse sand for excellent drainage and aeration. Its balanced pH and natural amendments, such as coarse peat and perlite create the ideal environment for healthy roots while mimicking the plant's native habitat, ensuring quick water flow to prevent overwatering.
- Light Requirements: Prefers bright, indirect light, but can tolerate low light conditions. Too much direct sunlight can cause its leaves to scorch, so place it in a location with filtered light for optimal growth.
- Watering: Keep the soil lightly moist, but allow it to dry out slightly between waterings. Water the plant thoroughly, ensuring the water drains from the bottom of the pot. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so ensure proper drainage.
- Growth Rate and Maintenance: Green English Ivy is a fast-growing vine that can quickly fill in empty spaces. Regular pruning helps maintain a compact shape, and removing dead or yellowing leaves encourages new growth. It’s also easy to propagate from cuttings for more plants.
- Temperature Tolerance: Ideal for temperatures between 60°F and 75°F (16°C-24°C). It can tolerate cooler temperatures, but avoid exposing it to drafts or sudden temperature fluctuations, as this may slow down its growth.
