Place it in a location where it can receive filtered sunlight, such as near a window with sheer curtains. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, especially during the peak hours of the day, as this can cause the leaves to burn.
- Consistent moisture is key to keeping your Grains of Paradise healthy. Water the plant deeply once the top inch of the soil becomes dry. During warmer months, you might find the need to water more frequently, while in winter, the watering frequency should be reduced. Use lukewarm water to avoid shocking the plant's roots, and always ensure that your pot has excellent drainage to prevent water accumulation at the bottom.
- This plant thrives in a warm and humid environment, typically between 60-75°F (15-24°C). It can tolerate higher temperatures but should be protected from drafts and sudden temperature changes which can stress the plant. To replicate the high humidity of its natural environment, mist the leaves regularly or use a humidifier. Additionally, placing the plant on a humidity tray filled with pebbles and water can also help increase the surrounding moisture.

These pods are small, roughly 2 to 3 inches long, and typically assume a rounded, sometimes elongated shape resembling tiny capsules. They start green and turn to a vivid red or sometimes yellow as they mature, making them not only an essential part of the plant's reproduction but also a decorative element in their own right.
