    This high quality fruit is indeed a true avocado variety. It has a glossy, amber, nearly black, thin skin and rich, nutty flesh. Fruit size can range from four ounces to eight ounces. Fruit begins to ripen from August through November. Hardy to about 18° F. Avocados are commercially valuable and are cultivated in tropical and Mediterranean climates throughout the world. They have a green-skinned, fleshy body that may be pear-shaped, egg-shaped, or spherical. Commercially, they ripen after harvesting.
