Plants within the Alocasia genus have similar basic traits because of their genetic connection, but the individual Alocasia varieties show vast differences in color, leaf size and shape, and size. This collection is grower's choice, meaning that our grower's will hand pick 3 different varieties based on health, beauty and current availability.
    • We grow a wide range of alocasia varieties, including Alocasia Polly, Maharani, Pink Dragon, Bambino, Black Velvet, Ebony, Hilo Beauty, Dark Star, Ivory Coast, Lauterbaachiana, Tiny Dancer, and Regal Shield.
    • Alocasias need bright, but indirect light. This is due to the plant's natural habitat, on the forest floor beneath the tree canopy. Direct sun will cause the leaves to burn, so avoid placing your Alocasia in a spot where it'll be exposed to direct sun for a prolonged period.
    • Water Alocasia plants when the top couple of inches of the soil are dry. Alocasia have medium water requirements. Even and consistent moisture is ideal. Alocasia like to partially dry out between waterings, but they definitely do not like to be soggy.
    • As a subtropical plant, Alocasia prefer warmer temperatures more in line with their native environment. Average room temperatures above 60-degrees is fine. If you place your Alocasia on a patio or outdoor area during the warmer months then make sure to bring it back inside well before the temperatures begin to drop below 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
