Kimberly Queen fern features upright growth that works well on pedestal stands to flank a front door or as background foliage plants in a flowerbed. These plants perform well in full sun to partial shade and grow to 3 feet tall and 4 feet wide. Plants benefit from cutting back every few years to keep foliage young and green. A Kimberly queen fern does well in medium light. Like a Boston fern, hanging one in front of a window with a northern exposure provides it with enough light to grow well, but not so much that the leaves lose their vibrant green color.
