    • Grown, Packaged and Shipped exclusively by Wekiva Foliage. Geraniums (Pelargonium x hortorum) make popular bedding plants in the garden, but they’re also commonly grown indoors or outside in hanging baskets. Growing geranium plants is easy as long as you can give them what they need.
    • If keeping geraniums as houseplants, be sure to bring them indoors in late summer or early fall, when nighttime temperatures start to regularly dip below 55°F (13°C).
    • Most are perennials in Zones 3 to 8, and the majority feature strong rhizomes that spread easily. Some of the more popular hardy geraniums make excellent ground cover.
    • Most geraniums crave sunshine. A full day is great except in the warmest zones, where plants thrive with shade during the hottest part of the day. Martha Washington and ivy geraniums need light shade in all regions, especially as summer temperatures soar.
    • Fertile, well-drained soil yields best growth. For geraniums in pots, choose a commercial bagged mix developed for use in containers.
